[Physical and chemical properties] It is a colorless and transparent oily liquid with a slight aromatic smell. It can be miscible with organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, acetone, cyclohexanone, methyl ethyl ketone, methanol, n-butanol, toluene, and insoluble in water and petroleum ether.
[Purpose]
This product is a plasticizer that has strong dissolution power for a variety of resins. It can be soluble in a variety of cellulose resins, natural rubbers, synthetic rubbers, and vinyl resins. It has good film forming, adhesion and waterproofness, and has high light and thermal stability. It is often combined with diethyl phthalate for cellulose acetate films, varnishes, transparent papers and molding powders. A small amount is used in the production of nitrocellulose and can also be used as a plasticizer for nitrile glue.
This product can also be used as a solvent for mosquito repellent oil (crude oil), polyvinyl fluoride coating, methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and DDT. When used as a plasticizer for rubber, it has no effect on the vulcanization of rubber and the product has good cold resistance.
