3. Uses of DMTDA:
Dimethylsyltoluene diamine (DMTDA) is a new type of polyurethane elastomer curing crosslinker, equivalent to Ethancure 300. There are mainly two isomers, 2,4- and 2,6-dimethylthiotoluene diamine (the ratio is about 77~80/17~20). Compared with the commonly used addition, it is a liquid with lower viscosity at room temperature, which can be suitable for construction operations at low temperatures, and has low chemical usage equivalents.
DMTDA is an environmentally friendly and low-toxic liquid diamine chain extender, mainly used in polyurethane elastomers, RIM (reaction injection molding), but (sprayed polyurea elastomers) and adhesives; it can also be used as an epoxy resin curing agent, and has been widely used in polyurethane rubber rollers, medicine, stamping molding, etc. In addition, it has been widely used in automobiles, construction, coal mines, metal mines, textiles, papermaking, and printing industries. The curing speed of DMTDA is much slower than that of DETDA, and can be mixed with DETDA in different proportions to adjust the curing speed to meet different needs.
